Excellent question!

The reason is that the Parent role is a custom role created here. When it was created, the teacher role was not automatically given the capability of assigning users to Parent roles. This has been done now and you should see the Parent role option when you now go to "Assign roles".

I notice that many of my course participants are parents but they are enrolled as students. When I go to "assign roles", I notice that "Parent" is not an option for me. How can assign parents the correct role? Thanks (and by the way, you're cute!)

If you have trouble accessing a course, please log in to the site and post a message to me (Worth).

Some folks might have been automatically un-enrolled from course by the system because they did not access the course over the summer. I'll be happy to solve the problem - just let me know.
